HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! I hope everyone out there gets a chance to eat some hot dogs off the grill, have a beer, and watch some fireworks. Independence day is a holiday we can all celebrate no matter what the economy. You can get hot dogs, buns, beer, AND bottle rockets/sparklers for under $20 total. USA, USA, USA!!! I know this because I've done it. When I was in college there was a period in there where I probably could have qualified for food stamps. But I can remember throwing some spare change together, finding some good deals, and then we ate like kings. Kings I tell you. While its pretty much a dead month for sports, July was always one of my favorites. Growing up, I had the 4th, then my birthday, and NO school anywhere in sight. Today I have the 4th, my birthday, and absolutely NO signs of employment anywhere in sight.
Everything still looks good with the Bucs win total (under 6.5) and the Free Money movement continues to gain more and more steam. Another one I've noticed is the immortal Clemson Tigers with their win total at 8.5 For those of you who are not aware... Clemson has the most underachieving football team in the nation. Last year they were ranked 9th in the polls, HUGE favorites to win the ACC and limped to a 7-6 record and a new coach named Dabo. Some say they underachieve, others say they're just not good and never have been. I say they choke. You can ALWAYS count on Clemson to choke. This means they will not win 9 games. In the past 15 seasons they've only won 9 games 3 times, including never winning more than 9 (even after starting 8-0 in 2000) ZERO ACC titles and always choking when it mattered most. Their fans are tormented and their alumni scorned by this horrible curse. As a gambler and anti-fan, they'll never let you down.
Especially if they have 8 wins going into their final game. They'll probably have a nice lead going into the 4th quarter. They you can sit back, relax, and smile as you watch them inexplicably choke it away. Ahhhh what a great feeling. Anyway, still put everything on the Bucs under, but if you have some leftover spare change, perhaps from your 4th of July fund, put it on the Clemson under (8.5) Did I mention their new head coach is named Dabo???
